Central YMA to keep Aizawl free from drug addicts and prostitutes



Aizawl: In a bid to keep Aizawl city clean from Drug addicts and Prostitutes, largest NGO in the state, Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) has carried out a massive drive of cleaning up people with immoral behaviour such as drug addicts and prostitutes living in Aizawl city and so far 143 have been caught, CYMA report said. 

CYMA SRS has carried out the clean-up drive since 11 April, 2015 (5:30 a.m.). As of 20 April, 2015 today, 104 No.4 (drugs) addicts, 7 prostitutes (KS) and 31 immoral persons because of intoxicants and others, in total 143, have been nabbed.

These 143 people include 86 men and 57 women and 3 gay prostitutes, CYMA report mentioned. Except 8 of them who were taken to Homes- 6 to New Life Home Society Jeriko, Durtlang and 2 to Protective Home Hunthar Veng, Aizawl, all were taken back to their respective family after informing YMA branch leaders of their locality. 
 
Those taken to New Life Home Society Jeriko, Durtlang and Protective Home Hunthar Veng, Aizawl are given Counselling by the Counsellors from IKO. CYMA acknowledged Presbyterian Kohhran Dawrpui Hmeichhia Committee and College Veng Branch YMA who have donated Rs. 5,000.00 and Rs. 2,000.00 respectively towards the SRS initiative.
